Hydro Jetting in Key West, FL
When a drain snake just pokes a hole through the clog, the blockage comes back in weeks. Hydro jetting is different: a high-pressure water stream scours the inside of the pipe wall, cutting through grease, soap scale, and root fibers and restoring the pipe to near-original flow. In Key West — where restaurant grease and old cast-iron lines are the norm — it's often the only fix that actually lasts.
Our jetting rigs run up to 4,000 PSI with rotating nozzles matched to your pipe size and material. We start with a camera inspection to see exactly what we're dealing with, then jet from the downstream cleanout so debris washes out toward the city main — not back into your home. Most jobs finish in a single visit.
If you've had the same drain snaked twice and it keeps slowing down, jetting is the next step. Call and describe what's happening — we'll tell you straight whether jetting is the right fix for your line.
Signs you need hydro jetting
- The same drain clogs again within weeks of being snaked
- Multiple fixtures drain slowly at the same time
- Gurgling sounds from drains or the toilet when water runs elsewhere
- Foul, sewage-like odor rising from drains
- Water backs up into a tub or shower when the washing machine drains
How our hydro jetting works
1. Camera inspection first
We run a camera through the line before jetting anything. This shows us the clog's location, what it's made of, and — critically — whether the pipe is intact enough to handle high pressure. We never jet a collapsed or badly cracked line.
2. Right nozzle, right pressure
Grease needs a different nozzle than root fibers. We match the nozzle and pressure to your pipe material — older cast-iron lines in Old Town get a gentler approach than modern PVC — so the clog goes and the pipe stays whole.
3. Jet from downstream
We feed the hose through a downstream cleanout and work backward, so everything the jet breaks loose washes out toward the city main instead of back into your sinks and tubs.
4. Verify with camera
After jetting, we run the camera again and show you the clean pipe on screen. You'll see the difference before we pack up — no guessing, no taking our word for it.
Why Key West drains need jetting
Key West's drain problems are island-specific. The Duval Street corridor's restaurants push enormous grease loads into old lines, and grease hardens into concrete-like scale that a snake just pierces and leaves behind. Old Town's housing stock — conch houses and 1900s-era cottages — still runs on cast-iron and galvanized lines whose rough interiors grab everything that passes. Add limestone and coral ground that shifts lines over decades, creating bellies where debris settles, and snaking becomes a temporary patch. Jetting removes the actual buildup — and on an island where every contractor crosses a bridge to reach you, a fix that lasts isn't a luxury, it's the whole point. That's why it's our most-requested commercial service on the island.
